Mission Statement
The mission of the Center for Multicultural Wellness and Prevention, Inc. (CMWP), is to enhance the health, wellness, and quality of life for diverse and ethnic populations in Central Florida. We will accomplish our mission by addressing health disparities, promoting health equity, and encouraging behaviors that facilitate positive health outcomes.
Description
Since 1995, CMWP has reached more than 200,000 uninsured people in Central Florida with culturally an dlinguistically tailored health information and education. CMWP offers servies in 4 languages: English, French, Creole, and Spanish. We are a non-clinical setting that have:1) Assisted more than 1,000 unduplicated individuals per year with Ryan White Part A, 2) Provided free screenings to more than 15,000 uninsured and underinsured individuals at the Annual Caribbean Health Summit since 2002, 3) Provides HOPWA housing assistance to more than 500 consumers annually, and 4) Developed and maintained a wide range of Community partners over the years to address important health issues in Central Florida.
