Every day during the summer, thousands of children who have relied upon school lunches during the school year find that they often times have nothing to eat.
The Salvation Army Feed the Kids program helps alleviate that problem by distributing up to 2,000 lunches each weekday to the most impoverished areas of the city.
We need volunteers who can help assemble these lunches. Sign up to volunteer any weekday morning, Monday-Friday beginning June 20 and ending August 24. This is a youth-friendly program, and we encourage youth groups, families, clubs, organizations and churches to consider registering to assist.
Need knows no season. Help us make the summer a little better by volunteering.
