Every Sunday evening we have a "Vespers" religious service at 6:30 p.m. We are in need of volunteers who can push the residents to and from in wheelchairs.
This is a service that many residents appreciate. Many do not have access to a vehicle to attend a religious service on their own, outside of Oaknoll. So, we bring the service to them. In addition to that, if they have limited mobility but want to attend, it is comforting to know they don't have to leave Oaknoll to attend services, someone can push them there.
A bit more about Vespers: To accommodate the various religions, we have a different service offered each week. For example, last month we had Agudas Achim Synagogue, Our Redeemer Lutheran, St. Mary's Catholic Church, and Zion Lutheran Church visit on the respective weeks.
Volunteers are needed to escort residents to and from the service.
