The Susan Wayne Center of Excellence, a residential treatment center and day school for cognitively impaired youth located in Thompson, CT., is seeking a part-time intern or volunteer to assist with an exciting new staff development project. This person will assume responsibility for a number of related initiatives over the next 3 - 12 months (pending applicant’s availability). Under the direction and support of program administration, this person will: develop and organize an internal career mentoring program, seek out development opportunities such as trainings and match to staff’s interests, hold career development interviews with staff members, collect data on a number of staffing and hiring needs and trends, (including languages spoken, race and ethnicity, referral source, and longevity), and track the training and orientation of new staff members to ensure adequate support is provided. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the internal workings of a medium-sized non-profit, educational setting, better understand how employees grow and develop, and attain organizational experience.
