We are excited to bring you another volunteer opportunity on Sunday, September 10th at 9:00 a.m. We are teaming up with the Coconino National Forest Service to bring you Trash Cleanup Project along the Arizona Trail behind Mary’s CafĂ© in Flagstaff.
Below is more information on the event, including directions, feel free to share it and bring your friends and family out for a fun day in the pines. If you want to spend the weekend in Flagstaff, you can check out the Arizona Trail Day celebration at Buffalo Park on Saturday the 9 th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then join us for a cleanup along the Arizona Trail on Sunday the 10 th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sign-in: 8-9 a.m. | Safety Briefing: 9 a.m. | Cleanup starts: after safety briefing
What to bring: Volunteers are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment in the Coconino National Forest. Please bring a hard hat and a pair of work gloves. If you don’t have a hard hat and gloves, please let us know in advance & we’ll reserve them for you. You are welcome to bring rakes, trash grabbers and buckets if you have them.
What to wear: please wear comfortable clothing and shoes that can get dirty. Wear a long sleeve shirt and long pants (there is vegetation that can scratch your arms and legs), thick-sole & closed toe sturdy shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, and please don’t forget gloves & a hard hat (we can’t stress this enough! You can get relatively inexpensive gloves and a hard hat at the Home Depot or you can reserve them with us in advance).
Water: We’ll have bottled water for you; consider bringing a backpack to carry some with you. Plan ahead with proper sun protection and a way to carry several bottles of water with you. If you have a hydration backpack, this is a great time to use it.
Snacks: Ernie and his awesome team at Sprouts in Flagstaff always make sure volunteers have quality snacks. Next time you’re in their store, let them know how much you appreciate their support of our cleanup projects. If you have any dietary restrictions, you may want to bring your own snack.
Volunteers under 18 years old are welcome when accompanied and supervised by an adult. This is a great event for the entire family and for youth groups.

About Natural Restorations
Location:

Mission Statement
Our mission is to remove trash, graffiti from outdoor recreation and wilderness areas, revitalize natural areas through replanting projects, and enrich the lives of military veterans and other community members.
Description
We remove trash, graffiti and anything foreign to the environment from outdoor recreation and wilderness areas throughout the state of Arizona. We replant burn scar areas by salvaging cacti that would otherwise be destroyed on construction sites and we transport them to burn scars where our team replants them. We provide contract work to Military Veterans on our Dedicated Restoration Team and host volunteer events for the community, including youth volunteers.
We have a passion for nature and we believe outdoor restorations and education ensures everyone will be able to enjoy outdoor recreation and wilderness areas. We approach every project with a commitment to long-term change and making lasting impacts in communities across the state.
We have removed over 1.5 million pounds of trash (791+ tons), planted over 53,500 trees, plants & cacti, and removed over 42,451 square feet of graffiti. We have provided over 17,400 hours of contract work to military veterans on our Dedicated Restoration Team. We have hosted over 107 volunteer events and completed over 141 restoration projects with our Dedicated Restoration Team.
