The social media coordinator will be responsible for the following: identify key online channels for Chapel Hill-Carrboro Meals on Wheels to establish a presence; develop a social media strategy to support the organization’s program services and fundraising activities; establish targets for increasing online reach; post regular updates to CHCMOW social media outlets, including news articles, blog posts, press releases, fundraising appeals and any other promotional items; monitor activity and user interactions for all social media outlets; adapt general CHCMOW campaign messaging for the different outlet-specific audiences. Qualifications: Experience using key social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest); strong writing and editing skills, with attention to detail; ability to use online tools to engage members, donors and corporate partners; outgoing, enthusiastic and creative; works well independently and as part of a team; bilingualism is an asset.

Meals on Wheels Orange County, NC provides a hot nutritious meal and personal visit Monday through Friday to those individuals living in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Hillsborough and the surrounding area who are unable to prepare meals for themselves due to illness, disability, or convalescence in order to improve their health, reduce isolation and help them maintain independent living.

Provide affordable, nutritious and flavorful meals to homebound individuals in our community.

Reduce isolation, support independence and enhance the quality of life for our recipients.

Engage families and community in partnerships that benefit both volunteers and recipients.
