About Visually Impaired Preschool Services, Inc.

Location:

161 Burt Road, Suite 4, Lexington, KY 40503, US

Mission Statement

The mission of Visually Impaired Preschool Services, Inc. is to offer appropriate services to visually impaired infants and preschoolers and their families; to maximize each child's developmental potential through direct services, advocacy, and community education.

Description

VIPS is the only private, nonprofit agency in Kentucky offering in-home service to blind and visually impaired children, birth to 3 years old. Families living within 50 miles of Lexington can receive weekly visits from our highly trained Early Interventionists. Outside of our 50 mile coverage area, children receive quarterly visits from trained teachers. Children with visually impairments are more likely to suffer developmental delays. If we can offer them our free services early in life, we can reduce those delays and help these children succeed.
