The Blue Heron Nature Preserve manages about 30 acres in north Atlanta, and it goes without saying that we have an extensive and diverse collection of trees on the property. We have done tree surveys in the past, but the data needs to be updated.
If you are interested in biology, ecology, nature, trees, or anything else that involves being outside, then you would enjoy this rewarding, challenging volunteer opportunity. It is great experience that would help further your studies, carreer, or passions.
Please contact Brooke if you are interested in getting involved in a small, yet quickly growing enironmental nonprofit whose mission is to save and preserve the greenspace in urban Atlanta.

The Blue Heron Nature Preserve 501(c)(3) is a nonprofit organization which manages a 30-acre greenspace located in north Atlanta in partnership with the City of Atlanta Parks Department. The Preserve was founded in 2000 with the vision of being a haven for nature in an urban environment. Our mission is to create a personal experience in nature for everyone through engagement, preservation, education, research and advocacy.
