ORGANIZATION: Playtime Project

  • 12 people are interested

The Homeless Children's Playtime Project provides trauma-informed play programs for youth ages 6 months - 18 years old at 4 family shelters/transitional housing sites across Washington, DC. Volunteer with us to serve youth, give back to your community, and have fun!

Play a crucial role in expanding our programming to serve more youth. We currently have our signature Playtime program for ages 3-7 on Monday nights at the Quality Inn Motel -- which serves as an overflow family shelter. We want to serve more children by opening up this program on Wednesday nights starting in June, and we need YOUR help!

Playtime volunteers serve at one of our sites once a week for two hours, for a minimum of 6 months. In order to become a volunteer, attend a training and complete our volunteer process.

Our next training is Tuesday, June 20th from 6:30-8:30pm at 1525 Newton St NW - attend to start the process of becoming a weekly volunteer!
