The American Kidney Fund is looking for volunteers with any medical background to assist at the 2017 National Baptist Congress H.O.P.E Week-Health Fair by performing blood pressure and glucose screenings. This event is part of a national effort to increase awareness of kidney disease and its two leading risk factors (diabetes and high blood pressure), while encouraging individuals to get and stay healthy.
We are looking for 6 volunteers for each of the following days:
Monday, June 19 th [1pm - 5pm]
Tuesday June 20 th [10 am-6pm]
Wednesday, June 21 st [10am -4pm]
Volunteers are extraordinary people who reach outside the limits of expected financial compensation, and their normal obligations, to contribute their time and service to a cause they believe will benefit the lives of others.
Attire: All volunteers are to wear clothing that is comfortable and presentable. They may wear scrubs or their organizations t-shirt
Volunteer Duties: To perform blood pressure and glucose screenings and explain the results to the participant

Description
The American Kidney Fund leads the nation in providing charitable assistance to dialysis patients who need help with the costs associated with treating kidney failure. Last year, nearly 90,000 people--almost 1 out of every 4 dialysis patients in the United States--received assistance from the American Kidney Fund for health insurance premiums and other treatment-related expenses.
Millions of people nationwide benefit annually from the American Kidney Fund’s efforts to fight kidney disease through health education and prevention efforts.
The American Kidney Fund offers free kidney health screenings in communities nationwide, as well as extensive online health education materials and courses and a toll-free health information HelpLine (866.300.2900).
