ORGANIZATION: Hostelling International San Diego

Volunteer Position: Special Event Assistant

Hostelling International (HI) San Diego is seeking a volunteer to assist in managing multiple special events including the planning and promotion of a major bicycle trip, fundraising events, and community gatherings.

The candidate should have past experience in event management, including scheduling, volunteer management, seeking sponsorships, and community engagement.

Experience needed with Microsoft Office and Google docs.

The ideal candidate is able to work independently with minimal supervision and follow organization standards.

Hours are flexible and most of the projects can be completed from home. Occasional meetings in Downtown San Diego and Point Loma will be necessary. Work would begin immediately with events scheduled for Fall and Winter.

HI USA provides budget accommodations and educational programs for travelers of all ages here in the US. Each of the 4,000+ hostels worldwide have clean, safe dormitory style sleeping rooms as well as common areas designated for cooking, dining, reading, and gatherings of all kinds. We promote global understanding and cultural exchange through our network of hostels & programs. Designed to bring people together, hostels have been likened to a miniature United Nations; San Diego is committed to linking the community with the rest of the world through travel workshops and educational programs in local area schools and of course by opening up our commnuity to the many travelers passing through San Diego.
