ORGANIZATION: Volunteer Services

We are looking for a volunteer Life Skills Mentor who can work with two individuals in the North Seattle area who needs someone to help them come up with a chore schedule. They are phsyically able bodied but needs images and other mechanisms to help them remember what to do. They need clear instructions on how to organize and reorganize closets. One of the individual understands he has a disability while the other client does not identify as having any disabilities other than being an older adult.

Volunteer Services, a program of Catholic Community Services, assists low-income elders and persons living with disabilities. Volunteers can provide assistance with light housecleaning, transportation, grocery shopping, home repair and yard care. With a little help from volunteers, clients can continue to live independently in their homes.

Due to the vulnerable population we serve, volunteers must complete an application form, pass a background check, provide driver's license and auto insurance, and attend an orientation and training. If providing transportation, must be 21 years of age and over. We provide mileage reimbursement and volunteers will need to pass a driver's abstract.
