Who is eligible to participate in the study?
We are recruiting young women, ages 15 to 24, living in the metro Atlanta area. If you are under 18, you must have parental consent to participate.
What will participants do?This is a two-year study, in which participants will complete in-person surveys once a year and short monthly, online surveys. During the first in-person visit, participants will be asked to provide a sample of blood and a few strands of hair collected from the back of the scalp.
What kinds of questions are asked in the survey?The surveys cover a wide-range of topics, including information about your daily life, relationships, and personal health experiences. You may skip questions that you feel uncomfortable answering and you can stop the survey at any point.

Mission Statement
The Young Women’s Stress Study is a research study run by Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. The study is intended to provide a better understanding of how stress and mental health impact the overall health and well-being of young women. With this understanding, we hope to improve the overall health of young women in Atlanta.
Description
This is a two-year long study and participants will be asked to complete in-person surveys once a year and short, monthly surveys online. During the first in-person visit, biological samples will be collected. These samples include bloodspot and hair. We will also measure other aspects of your physical health, such as height, weight and blood pressure.
Participants will be paid for each in-person visit and each at-home survey completed. Over the course of the project, you could receive up to $260.
