ORGANIZATION: BUILD

BUILD's mission is to use entrepreneurship to ignite the potential of youth from under-resourced communities and propel them to high school, college, and career success.

BUILD Mentors play a critical role in helping our students develop the life skills they'll need to succeed in college and career. Mentors and students have session once per week, every week during the school year. At these mentor sessions, student business teams work on their ideas as they prepare for milestone events throughout the year. Mentors work with their team of students, guiding them through whatever deliverables the team has agreed upon. With BUILD Mentoring, you are commiting to being a postive role model for DC youth, and our entrepreneurial context and curriculum help you form strong bonds with your mentees.

Our BUILD students launch and operate their own businesses starting in the 9th grade, and continue their entrepreneurial journeys through all four years of high school. BUILD Mentors commit to at least one full school year of being a mentor, with the hope that mentors continue through the BUILD program with their students.
