Our mission is to create a sense of place, improve the quality of life and restore economic vitality, and increase inclusiveness and wealth in the Broadway-Fillmore and Martin Luther King neighborhoods through grassroots organizing and public-private partnerships.

Description

Fillmore Forward is a 501(C)(3) community based organization supported by community members and funded through business, private donations, foundations, fundraisers as well as contributions from local government. Fillmore Forward recognizes that the City of Buffalo is growing and the neighborhoods of the Broadway-Fillmore and Martin Luther King are an integral part of this renaissance, especially for developing the Fillmore Corridor back to the socially and economically thriving part of Buffalo it was in decades past. It is our hope to establish Fillmore Forward as a well-respected entity known for administering programs and projects that impact the community positively, a catalyst for collaboration and facilitator of community projects affecting the Martin Luther King & Broadway-Fillmore neighborhoods, and a model for the creative use of the longstanding art and culture of the neighborhoods to spark economic and social vitality. Our communities are blessed with a variety of natural and historic assets which need our continued positive reinvestment to our park systems, historical buildings, and transit system for enhancing the quality of life along the Fillmore Corridor.
