Patient Parking Shuttle Driver

Drivers provide transportation services to Veterans around the facility parking lots. Drivers work in conjunction with voluntary service office or designated dispatcher. Drivers operate 2-4 passenger electric shuttle.

To meet and deal with disabled (both physical and mental) Veterans. Shuttles are not wheelchair accessible. Drivers are not expected to lift or assist patients into shuttle.

Drivers will remain within the scope of said assignment ( within facility parking lots only.

Keep vessel clean at all times.

Driver has the right to refuse rides to individuals with unacceptable behavior.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess valid up-to-date automobile insurance coverage as well as valid CA State driver’s license (documented certification required).

Must possess ability to meet and relate to Veterans of varied races, colors, religions, sex, national origins, ages and handicaps. Tact, courtesy and balanced demeanor required.

Accept, understand and respect the confidential aspects of the assignment.

Participation in Volunteer Orientation, and other training, as required.

Must possess tact, patience, empathy, congeniality, warmth and kindness.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

California Driver’s License

Proof of current Insurance

Driver Safety Course Completion Certificate

Clean DMV Record

Clearance of Physical from Occupational Medicine

Proof of negative results from TB Test - Occupational Medicine
