CaribMask Caribbean Carnival

ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 26, 2017 - the Raleigh/Durham Afro-Caribbean Association (RDACA) presents the 6th Annual CaribMask Carnival where Downtown Fayetteville Street will be adorned with beautiful Caribbean carnival costumes as masqueraders parade down into the CaribMask Festival Village; which will house authentic tasty Caribbean cuisine and arts and craft vendors with live performers from the Caribbean.

We need Volunteers for 2 hour shifts throughout the day to assist with

  1. Stage/Production area

  2. The Parade

  3. Kids Corner

  4. Tent/Hospitality

  5. Vendor Coordination

  6. The Festival Village

  7. Breakdown

The Raleigh/Durham Afro-Caribbean Association is a 501c3 non-profit organization seeking to promote diversity, equality and create a deeper appreciation for Afro-Caribbean culture among the citizens of the Raleigh/Durham Metropolitan area through the development, integration, and support of community activities. CaribMask Carnival fulfills several of our organization’s goals: 1) provides an opportunity for collaboration to foster community impact economically, educationally and socially and 2) presents a cultural event which teaches the diversity and beauty of the African diaspora. The Raleigh/Durham Afro-Caribbean Association (RDACA) is a 501c3 non-profit organization seeking to improve the Triangle Community through an improved cross-cultural understanding and integration of the Afro-Caribbean Community. Our main goals are

1. Be a platform of education and advocacy to mobilize and empower the Afro-Caribbean community.

2. Provide opportunities for collaboration to foster community impact economically, educational and socially.

3. Embrace the community through programs that seek to strengthen its citizens, local businesses, and organizations.

4. Sponsor cultural events which teach the diversity and beauty of the African diaspora.
