re you 55 or older? Do you like to work with kids? If so, consider becoming a reading tutor through Interfaith Older Adult Programs. Volunteer are needed at MPS Elementary Schools for 90 minutes, once a week!
In addition, our Lead Tutors help to mentor fellow volunteer tutors in their work with MPS students and assist with the coordinate of the logistics of the program. No previous experience is required, but a background in education is helpful for the Lead Tutor positions.
You choose the school, day, time and grade level you want to work with.You will volunteer in the same classroom with the same teacher and the same kids for the entire semester. Build lasting relationships and show MPS students that you care! Orientations are scheduled every two weeks. All the basics, and much more, will be covered in a fun interactive way that will have you asking yourself why you did not do this sooner.
