Are you 55 or older and enjoy offering advice and assistance to your peers? Do you love to learn? If so, you are an ideal candidate to become a Senior Ambassador! Interfaith Older Adult Program's RSVP Senior Ambassadors meet one-on-one with older adults in public places, such as libraries, senior centers, churches or housing facilities, to help connect seniors with the resources they need to stay independent.
All too often, older adults search for resources when an emergency arises, which forces them to make quick decisions. This situation can cost them time, money and, in some cases, their independence. As a Senior Ambassador, you will help to educate older adults about local resources and help them make informed decisions regarding their needs.
Volunteers must be 55 or older and complete a total of 6 hours of free training.Trainings are offered quarterly. There are also monthly in-services offered to help volunteers stay up to day on new and existing resources in the Milwaukee area. This opportunity is ideal for couples or friends who wish to volunteer together.
