ORGANIZATION: Winooski Community Services Department

Special Event Crossing Guard Volunteers will assist event participants and pedestrians in safely entering and exiting areas such as Rotary Park during special events (Winooski Wednesdays, Halloween in Winooski, etc.). Volunteers will use the designated crosswalks and crosswalk signals while obeying Vermont State traffic laws.

Volunteers are required to spend a one-time, 25-minute orientation with City of Winooski Public Safety staff to get acquainted with the required equipment (vests, flashlights, and or signs) prior to the event.

Previous experience is helpful, but not required! Public Safety staff will acquaint you with proper logistics.

Description

The Community Services Department oversees the Parks and Rec Department, The Winooski Senior Center, the Winooski Memorial Library, Thrive Afterschool Programming, The O'Brien Community Center, and the Winooski Community Gardens.
