We are still in need of at least one volunteer tutors to work with a small groups of 4-6 students who are studying Adult Basic Education (reading and math at 5-8th grade level) for the summer only. The tutor can pick the days and times to schedule the class but will work about 4 hours a week instructing students and 1-2 hours preparing lessons. Students are hoping for Tuesday and Thursday classes from 10am-12pm. Tutors must have a 4 year degree and clearances. We will train and support the tutors and will provide resources. Great opportunity for a recent grad who may want to gain teaching experience or explore working in the fields of social services or education. We are hoping to run the program from 6/12-8/25 but can be flexible with a start and end date. When the program ends there will be an opportunity to continue tutoring if you wish.
