ORGANIZATION: Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre

Role summary:

  • To engage, amaze and inspire children in the galleries

  • Tasks include: Face painting, Crafts, Storytime, Puppetry, Clownfish Cove Touchpools, Playtime

    Desired skills and experience:

  • Friendly, outgoing with an interest in connecting with our visitors and improving the Vancouver Aquarium and the Visitor Experience

  • Previous experience working with kids is an asset

  • Previous experience as a work experience (wex) student is an asset

  • People opting for a weekday shift should be comfortable attending the facepainting station alone

    Special requirements: love crafts, face painting and working with young children

  • Commitment:

  • One four-hour shift weekly

  • Min. 50 hour commitment

Work environment:

  • In the galleries, indoors or outdoors

  • May be in heat or rain - dress for the weather

    Shifts Available:

  • Monday - Sunday; 10:15 am - 2:45 pm

  • Monday - Sunday; 12:30 pm - 5:00 pm

    Training:

  • Core #1 training Sept 24, 27, 30 or Oct 12; 8:30 am - 2:30 pm

  • Core #2 training Oct 5 or 15; 8:30 am - 2:30 pm

  • Specific training Oct 23; 5:15 pm - 9:00 pm
