The I Am A Scientist Intern is the assistant to the STEM Specialist of the Children's Museum's afterschool "I Am A Scientist!" program. The IAAS Intern will work as part of the Education team and will work directly with elementary-age students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. This individual must show a demonstrated commitment to the Museum mission and the philosophy of play-based, experiential learning.
Education and Experience: Creative team player with experience in an educational environment serving young children with a strong commitment to hands-on learning and child-directed play.
Language and Computer Skills: Excellent listening, verbal and written skills required. Ability to speak, read and write in English and Spanish is desired but not required.
Other Skills and Abilities: Professional, courteous demeanor. Proficient organizational skills and the ability to successfully multitask. Comfortable working with children and ensuring their safety. Ability to communicate effectively with parents/ caregivers.
