Veterans Caring for Veterans
Kindred Hospice is proud to be part of the WE HONOR VETERANS PROGRAM; a collaboration between the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the Department of Veterans Affairs
Our hospice program needs Veteran volunteers who are willing to share some of their time and talents to help our Veteran patients and families through companionship, emotional support, socialization, respite for caregivers, participate in pinning ceremonies, and educate our teams on military culture.
Trained hospice volunteers who are also Veterans will have the unique ability to support other Veterans whose illness is life-limiting. Our hospice program provides education on the hospice philosophy, our care model, and help Veterans understand their role of Veteran volunteers.
Orientation and training are scheduled to fit around your lifestyle. To learn more about this opportunity please call 512-651-9227 or email: Ramona.castillo@kindredhospicecare.com
