Tutoring: A life-changing experience
Meet new people and share your knowledge!

Help someone improve their math skills!

No PhD in math required! Often, our students are starting at the most basic math skills with addition and subtraction, or fractions and decimals. We can even help you brush up on topics before you begin teaching your student.

Most tutors work one-on-one with an adult student. This allows sessions to focus on the students own needs and goals. We match students and tutors according to a time and location that is convenient for both of them, as well as your interests and personality!

In order to tutor, you will need to attend some training to give you all the skills you'll need. Plan on attending one of our upcoming New Tutor Orientations:

"New Tutor Orientation" is being held on Tuesday, March 6th, 2018 at the Williamson Library in Williamson, NY. Times are 10:00 am - 1:00 pm and 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm. If interested, please call 315-946-5333 to reserve a spot as seats are limited. Thank you!

This workshop introduces volunteers to our mission, tutoring opportunities, and volunteer options. New tutors must attend ONE orientation class, and then may complete the rest of their intended teaching coursework on-line. As a follow up, new tutors must attend "Keys to Successful Tutoring" as soon as possible after completion of online courses.

For a complete list of dates, be sure to check out our facebook page and click on the "events" button on the left side bar. If none of these dates work for you, contact us anyway! We are happy to work with your schedule in order to get you started!

"Keys to Successful Tutoring" (follow up once coursework has been completed)

This workshop serves as a springboard to developing an actual tutoring relationship; covers topics like lesson planning, documentation and staffing support. New tutors should attend this workshop before or within their first month of tutoring. To familiarize the volunteer with our location and resources, this workshop is held in our office or in the classroom space next door.

New dates TBD. (We'll work with YOUR schedule!)
