The goal of the Pathways to Justice Program is to engage Bridgeport youth that are currently or have been involved in the Juvenile Justice system or youth that are at risk of becoming involved.
The Pathways Program will work to provide youth enrolled with fundamental soft skill training, basic math and reading skills remediation, and mentorship from individuals working in justice or emergency fields (police officers, corrections officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, legal professionals, etc.).
Volunteer mentors are needed to talk with youth in a classroom setting about their own career path and help encourage our youth to explore it.
We are especially interested in adults who have work or volunteer experience in the legal or law enforcement profession including lawyers, paralegals , EMTs, parole/probation officers, police officers and similar professions, but anyone willing to serve as a mentor is welcome.
We are asking for approximately a once a month time commitment. An up to date DCF clearance is required.
