Cat-loving volunteers needed MEOW!

Our group needs cat loving volunteers for our new cattery at the Petco in CERRITOS! We need a cleaner on SATURDAY AND SUNDAY MORNINGS. Petco has been so generous to give us habitats where our cats can live full-time while waiting for their forever homes. Our group needs volunteers who can commit to just ONE shift per week (mornings) with an approximate time commitment of 1 to 1 1/2 hour per shift. The store requires that you arrive no later than 8 am to start cleaning, and socializing can be done around YOUR schedule.

The kennels are fairly easy to clean - basically sanitizing litter pans and replacing litter, sanitizing the living area for the cats, washing food bowls, and giving the cats the chance to stretch and play while you clean. You would get training with another volunteer before you handle a shift on your own. Having cat experience, especially with handling cats, is best for someone in this position. Happy cats get adopted much more quickly and we would love your help in keeping our cats happy!

We also need some volunteers for ADOPTION SATURDAYS! We will be holding adoptions every Saturday from 12 to 3pm and we need a core group of people that are willing to commit to at least 2 Saturdays per month to help with adoption events. Volunteers socialize cats and answer questions for potential adopters, as well as help with set-up and tear down (about 30 minutes each). Cat experience is always preferred but NOT a requirement to volunteer!
