Forest Festival Field Day 2019 is on the way!

Green Diamond Resource Company and Mason Conservation District are coordinating a 5th grade forestry program and are looking for Trail Guides to lead 5th grade students through the stations at Forest Festival Field Day. Volunteers will enjoy a hands-on field day of learning about forestry and the forest environment as well as use their leadership and communication skills. The event takes place outdoors as students rotate between a series of activity stations.

Event Details: This year’s Forest Festival Field Day is scheduled for Friday, May 17th, 2019. The field day starts at 9:30 am and ends at roughly 2:30 pm. This is when 5th grade students will be arriving and departing. Trail Guide volunteers need to arrive at 8:30 for an orientation. Hot drinks will be available in the morning and lunch will be provided for volunteers!

Mission Statement

"PROMOTING THE SUSTAINABLE USE, CONSERVATION & RESTORATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES IN OUR COMMUNITY"

Description

A Resource for Landowners:
Mason Conservation District has been working collaboratively since 1956 to help landowners in Mason County responsibly and efficiently manage their land and associated natural resources. As a non-regulatory agency, Mason Conservation District provides service solely at the request of the property owner. District staff will assess the landowner’s desired result and provide technical assistance and in some cases, financial assistance to achieve that goal. We provide confidential counsel to landowners without risk of regulation. Many of the Best Management Practices recommended by District staff improve environmental health while providing a sense of security and legal compliance.

A Resource for all Mason County Residents:
The District provides technical assistance and other available resources for the sustainable use, conservation or restoration of natural resources in Mason County. Regardless of the size or scope, Mason CD looks forward to providing you with the knowledge and confidence needed to undertake your project.
