Big Paddle

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the City of Ridgefield at the Big Paddle event on June 2nd. The Big Paddle Festival is held each year in honor of National Trails Day. The event activities include a paddle, nature hike, obstacle course and many vendor booths. While on the paddle, participants visit cultural, historic and environmental sites. There will be food, music and lots of fun games.
To learn more about the event: http://ridgefieldwa.us/event/big-paddle/

Volunteers are needed to assist with various tasks, including set up the day before (June 1) and registration, take down and cleanup on the day of the event (June 2).

  • June 1, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm: Volunteers are needed to help with set up for the event. This includes posting signs, marking parking areas, setting up canopies, roping off the beer garden, moving benches and tables, setting up the stage, etc.
  • June 2, 7:00 am to 10:30 am: Volunteers are needed to help with last minute setup, assist with participant registration, unload kayaks, etc.
  • June 2, 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm: Volunteers are needed to help with take down and clean up following the event.
**Everyone that volunteers to help will get a t-shirt and a free meal, and entered into a prize drawing.**

Please note that there will be down time to the set up and cleanup process. These are great opportunities to visit vendor booths, grab a meal, and enjoy the events of the festival.
