The SoulDeevas Organization is looking for a Coaching Assistant to support the Head Coach for its inaugural Competitive Step Team.

The Coaching Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with coaching the team on Saturdays (about three hours) throughout the school year, assuming the role as the Head Coach on days when she is absent.
  • Maintaining flexibility on performance days, as times will vary, including nighttime and weekends during competition season and special events to support the team.
  • Creating a stimulating learning environment that is organized, well managed and enriching.
  • Learning the routines and assisting struggling team members with the choreography.
  • Assisting with the planning and delivering of end-of-school-year step team performance.
  • Assisting the Coach and Manager with selecting team outfits and props and planning travel for competitions.
The team will begin to practice in September and will practice through June. Interested candidates MUST have experience with Competitive Stepping! A very experienced high school student will also be considered for this role and can use the experience for community service credit. We will consider someone with extensive dance or cheer experience as well.

Friends of MJHS ("Friends") is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation organized for the purpose of generating contributions, pledges and funds for the development and ongoing support of Citadel Academy Prep School (CAPS), a school that will provide students in grades 6-8 with a high quality Christian education through a well balanced, yet challenging curriculum that ministers to the spirit, soul and body.

Friends will also provide funds, management and ongoing support of The SoulDeevas Performing Arts Company, a character building sports and arts program that will serve all youth regardless of their religious affiliation. The SoulDeevas will include programs that provide activities, resources and support during critical out-of-school time hours in a safe, nurturing environment that works from a strengths-based, youth development perspective.
