Help children and parents learn to love reading! The mission of Reach Out and Read is to make books a routine part of pediatric primary care so that children grow up with a love of books and reading. ROR Volunteers will be stationed in the lobbies of our participating clinics, where they will read aloud to children. It's a great way to not only model good reading behavior, but the kids and their families will appreciate the story! Volunteers also have the opportunity to create and run their own arts and crafts projects with the children in the clinic lobby room. ROR volunteers are subject to a thorough background check. We also require ROR volunteers to commit to a minimum of 300 hours over a 6-month period.
