For the travel planners, the detail people, the must-move-around people- this might be your calling! Families to Freedom transports victims of domestic abuse to safety. We need help managing travel operations for our clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience for program management of a nonprofit or a for-profit business. With a heavy emphasis on team relations and travel logistics, the ideal candidate will bring some experience of managing projects, teamwork and problem solving. This is a mostly onsite position and needing a regular weekday, business hours schedule.

Travel with a client required as part of training- expenses paid and vehicle provided.

Working alongside the Executive Director, the Assistant Program Manager will be responsible for the successful logistics and planning of client travels.

Gain Team Leadership Skills

  • Engage with a growing team of 70+ volunteer drivers
  • Assist with team training
  • Report on program status, achievements and challenges

Gain Program Development Skills

  • Prepare travel logistics for clients and volunteer drivers
  • Assist with travel analysis after trips (costs, miles, driver feedback)
  • Actively pursue cost efficiencies
  • Actively pursue risk reductions

Requirements

  • Travel at least one trip with a client as part of training (all travel expenses paid)
  • Must be available onsite to assist with car ride travel prep, may not be daily
  • Ideal schedule to start 9am until the afternoon, flex-time and self-scheduling available
  • Commit to at least 3 months in this role
  • Comfortable using and navigation smartphone apps
  • Infrequent evening or weekend obligations for client needs may be needed

Our mission is transport victims of domestic abuse to safety.

Description

Families to Freedom provides free transportation services to victims and their children who have experienced domestic abuse. We make it possible for victims and new survivors to get far away from abusive relationships. Our life-saving services include car rides to domestic violence shelters across the region, road trips to family homes in other states, multi-state bus tickets, and fuel assistance to relocate far away. We serve victims and new survivors across North Texas, East Texas, and the Gulf Coast area. We drive over 900 victims and children each year between two offices located in Dallas and Houston. We rely on the generous support of the community to continue providing these services at no cost to the victims who call us.
