We are devoted to live the dreams of the children, youth and adults with special needs, through unfolding their talents, creativity, gifts, and extraordinary abilities so that they may grow them!

The Marketing and Editorial Intern should possess a passion for growth and creativity with exceptional writing and editing skills as well as marketing and analytical skills. Meticulous attention to detail and factual accuracy are crucial skills in this role. Responsibilities will include compiling and writing news stories and profiles, researching story leads, writing, fact-checking, copy editing, and reviewing editorial submissions and correspondence. This position will offer 30-40 hours per week. Specific schedules are flexible within our core business hours (8:30AM -- 5:30PM).

Meticulous attention to detail and factual accuracy are crucial skills in this role. Responsibilities will include compiling and writing news stories and profiles, researching story leads, writing, fact-checking, copy editing, and reviewing editorial submissions and correspondence.

This individual should also have experience using blogs and social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. He/she may also be responsible for generating traffic, increase loyalty, encourage word of mouth promotion, and make connections with online audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule and upload content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
  • Monitor all social media channels to engage with users and provide daily recaps on social conversations
  • Support Vice President of Development with various projects and website redesign including researching and gathering content, creating web pages and promoting SEO tactics
  • Writing succinct, intelligent, creative, and cogent copy that drives traffic to Hanley Wood websites
  • Writing short stories and fact-checking page proofs for phone numbers, websites, etc.
  • Expanding content using online social media platforms
  • Filing art and press releases after each issue is published
  • Conducting web research to find interesting products, story ideas, and potential partnerships with other organizations
  • Research: conducting basic research in order to engage the community and investigate any trending activities within the community
  • Conducting research and interviews, managing special projects
  • Create signage, newsletters, email campaigns, online promotions, etc.
  • Provide support to social media efforts to target new audiences.
  • Assist with special events to promote organization and increase attendance.
  • Research and analyze competitor marketing and sales materials.
  • Collaborate on team presentations for management and clients.

- Should be open-minded, a fast learner, enthusiastic, and adaptable.

- Team player who works well with others and isn’t afraid to ask questions.

- Interested and familiar with education, special needs education, digital marketing and social media space.

There is significant evidence to show that alternative, holistic mind, body, nutritional, naturopathic treatments can help many of them to overcome challenges and restore bodily functioning. Our clients are individuals with disabilities who suffer from a wide array of disfunctions that causes disturbances in their daily life, academics, and social interactions.We offer therapeutic group classes, one -on one services and therapies, educational workshops, professional development courses, and social, emotional, and recreational programs for individuals with disabilities. We also introduce the integration support of young people with disabilities into the workforce. Not everyone has the same strengths and qualities, but we look for the best and unique qualities about each person to help them succeed.
