Your Sunshine’s mission is to enrich and improve the social, physical, emotional, and recreational capabilities of children and youth with special needs while unfolding their full potential in a nurturing environment that is integral to promoting well-being. We are devoted to live the dreams of the children, youth and adults with special needs, through unfolding their talents, creativity, gifts, and extraordinary abilities so that they may grow them!

This position will offer 30-40 hours per week. Specific schedules are flexible within our core business hours (8:30AM -- 7:30PM).

The Administrative and Program Assistant volonteer should possess a passion for growth and creativity with exceptional communication, writing, organizational, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

* Support day-to-day operations of a small non-profit organization.
* Room set-up for workshops, trainings.
* Data entry, photocopying, filing, scanning for archiving project and e-filing documents.
* Print various materials and update program resources.
* Answer phones, greet/welcome guests and students.
* Proofread and edit publications, flyers, documents, and correspondences.
* Assist with program planning and logistics.
* Provide general administrative support and maintain files and documents.
* Assist with scheduling of tours and field trips.
* Assist with coordination of event logistics.
* Community and partnership outreach.
* Assist with print and electronic newsletters.
* Perform other related tasks assigned by Your Sunshine staff members.

Requirements

-Strong written and oral communications skills and attention to detail
- Professional demeanor, excellent problem-solving skills, organizational abilities, and inter-personal skills
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people, both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision.
- Solid written and oral communication skills and excellent phone manner.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Possess creativity, flexibility, variety, and growth potential.
- Should be open-minded, a fast learner, enthusiastic, and adaptable.
- Team player who works well with others and isn’t afraid to ask questions.
- Interested and familiar with education, special needs education, digital marketing and social media space.
- Detail-oriented, cares about how our communications will impact thousands of people.

Nearly 1 in 5 Americans (56.7 million) have a disability. There is significant evidence to show that alternative, holistic mind, body, nutritional, naturopathic treatments can help many of them to overcome challenges and restore bodily functioning. Our clients are individuals with disabilities who suffer from a wide array of disfunctions that causes disturbances in their daily life, academics, and social interactions.We offer therapeutic group classes, one -on one services and therapies, educational workshops, professional development courses, and social, emotional, and recreational programs for individuals with disabilities. We also introduce the integration support of young people with disabilities into the workforce. Not everyone has the same strengths and qualities, but we look for the best and unique qualities about each person to help them succeed.
