About

Our emergency shelter kitchen is responsible for providing 3 meals each day to the men, women and children who are temporarily the guests of Joseph's House. we have 2 other buildings where former chronically homeless men and women have apartments with us. We provide meals at all 3. Our Kitchen Coordinators works from early morning through early afternoon and would love helpers. Volunteers will help prep ingredients, process donations of summer produce, cook, serve and clear away. Training is provided as necessary. Volunteers are welcome to work a regular shift of 1 or more days per week and actual hours are negotiable. Many people have used working in our kitchens as a way to build skills and enhance their resume, in addition to those just wanting to give back in a very immediate way: people need to eat!
