The Latinas On the Verge of Excellence - L.O.V.E. Mentoring Program supports and empowers young Latinas to strive both in school and life by providing positive role models. L.O.V.E. is currently looking for a social media intern who will collaborate with the communications and social media platforms of the organization. The intern will work 15 hours per week.
L.O.V.E. Social Media Intern responsibilities
- Monitor analytics with social media team to identify viable ideas
- Responds to posts or comments to bring value to audience’s interactions with the purpose of growing L.O.V.E.’s online social networks
- Performs research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content that is relevant to our audience and post it to our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter page in a manner that invites conversation and interaction
- Updates Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts with current and relevant photos, video, or other content from L.O.V.E.’s activities and events
- Completes other social media projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Creative self. Starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration
- Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity and facility with mainstream social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube
- Available to work 15 hours per week

Description
Latinas On the Verge of Excellence - The L.O.V.E. Mentoring Program supports and empowers young women to strive both in school and in life through positive role modeling. The L.O.V.E. Mentoring Program works in partnership with NYC public schools, charter schools, colleges and universities, whose mission is to enhance the well-being of young girls and Latinx communities in New York City.
L.O.V.E. takes place each academic year from September to June, running for approximately 32 weeks. L.O.V.E. is a school-based curriculum program that consists of four core components: Mental health, Reproductive health, College access and Career readiness. Volunteer mentors meet with their mentees in partner schools on a weekly basis for an hour.
