The Most Important Meal is a breakfast fundraising event to support Hudson Valley Community Services’ (HVCS) food and nutrition services. Playing on the long-held consensus that "breakfast is the most important meal of the day," this event is built on the notion that "The Most Important Meal" is the one you provide for others. This event will have a casual, fun atmosphere that harkens back to Saturday morning as a kid, chowing down on cereal while watching beloved cartoons-while raising funds to help feed hungry people. We aim to draw on the nostalgia factor of eating cereal, and because cereal is a low-budget meal, we can raise more money for our programs rather than spending it on a high-end breakfast. Supporters can enjoy a bowl of their favorite flakes (or loops) while filled with the satisfaction that the have helped those in need.
We are looking for committed volunteers to assist us with event planning, sponsorships, selling virtual journal ads, selling tickets, and collecting silent auction items.

Mission Statement
HVCS’ mission is to promote prevention and wellness for all people, to encourage life-affirming decisions maximizing their quality of life, and to coordinate care for those living with complex health conditions.
Description
We envision the Hudson Valley as a place where all people, regardless of socio-economic status, live healthy lives and have access to the coordinated care they need to maintain their health. And by health, we mean all aspects: physical, mental, social and self-worth. A healthy Hudson Valley connects people living with serious, long-term illnesses with a wide variety of support systems to optimize their health and wellbeing, from great nutrition to access to services, freedom from the debilitating effects of substance abuse to eliminating the stigma that co-infects those with HIV/AIDS, mental health issues, and other diseases. The healthy Hudson Valley we picture is one in which underserved, disenfranchised communities cease to lag behind their more affluent neighbors on all health indices.
