What is Kit Rebuilding:

Kit Rebuilding is a vital process that ensures the seamless delivery and effectiveness of Junior Achievement's educational programs. Our student kits are specially curated collections of teaching materials, games, and resources designed to engage and empower students from Kindergarten to 5th grade. These kits are the backbone of our JA in a Day program, which brings our experiential learning model directly to classrooms in a condensed timeframe.

The Kit Rebuilding process involves several essential steps:

  1. Organizing and Inventory: Volunteers will carefully unpack the existing student kits, sorting and organizing the materials to assess their condition and completeness. This step is crucial in identifying any missing items or damaged components that need replacement.

  1. Quality Assurance: Volunteers will inspect each teaching resource and game piece to ensure they meet the high standards of Junior Achievement's educational content. Any damaged or outdated materials will be replaced, ensuring that every kit is up-to-date and ready for classroom use.

  1. Material Recycling: Junior Achievement is committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Volunteers will separate and recycle any materials that are no longer suitable for use in the kits, minimizing waste and promoting eco-friendly practices.

  1. Reassembling the Kits: After inventory and quality checks are completed, volunteers will systematically reassemble the student kits, carefully placing all the teaching materials, games, and resources back into each kit. The well-organized and complete kits will be ready for deployment to classrooms.

  1. Impact and Results: By participating in Kit Rebuilding, volunteers directly contribute to significant cost savings for Junior Achievement. Each successfully rebuilt kit translates to approximately $130 in savings per class. These savings are reinvested back into the organization to expand our reach, impact more schools, and enhance the quality of our educational programs.

  1. Empowering Education: The rebuilt kits play a crucial role in fostering financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship skills among students. By ensuring that the teaching materials are in optimal condition, volunteers contribute to creating a positive learning experience for thousands of young learners across Southern Nevada.

Join Us in Making a Difference: Kit Rebuilding is a hands-on, rewarding opportunity for volunteers to contribute directly to the future success of students in our community. By investing your time and skills in this project, you become a vital part of the educational journey that shapes young minds and equips them with essential life skills.

No Prior Experience Required: Whether you're an educator, a student, a parent, or a concerned community member, anyone can participate in Kit Rebuilding. Our team of experienced staff will provide all the necessary training and guidance to ensure that your contribution has a meaningful impact.

Mission Statement

To educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, understand business and economics to improve the quality of their lives.

Description

Junior Achievement is a business/Education partnership where volunteers teach students K-12 about the free enterprise system using a pre-designed curriculum.

Our mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. At Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada, we provide hands-on experiential programs that teach children in the Clark County School District the key concepts of financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. ! Through our proven curriculum that is designed on a national level to align with Common Core and state standards our hundreds of business volunteers each year share the life skills that make a difference in our children’s future. Junior Achievement’s programs focus on three pillars; financial literacy (how to be smart with your money and credit), how to be ready to join the workforce and how to think like an entrepreneur/business person. At an even deeper level, Junior Achievement programs tie what kids are learning in the classroom back to their future and inspire them to dream about who they will become.
