Mission Statement

We are families helping families. We empower and support families and youth struggling with behavioral, emotional or substance abuse challenges in navigating resources to achieve wellness and resilience.

Description

Guided Pathways -Support for Youth and Families (GPS)is a free-standing, King-county based 501c3 family support organization committed to providing services for families, by families and with families.

Families often have difficulty knowing where to turn for help for their children experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties or problems with substance abuse. Navigating complex service systems can be a frustrating, confusing and challenging experience for families. Traditionally, systems fail to help families mitigate against these experiences. An effective way to help families is to provide peer support and parent partners to assist families in navigating the complex child-serving systems, including juvenile justice, child welfare, and mental health and substance abuse treatment.

National research suggests that this approach is highly effective -both for families and for the system. GPS provides these supports for families through a Peer Partner.
