Mentors are required to commit 12 months of service mentee and must be at least 21 years old. Your commitment can help us build a whole community of supports around our youth. We are specifically looking for mentors with out-of-home care experience and mentors of color and male mentors however, all are encouraged to apply, so join us for an info session and learn how you can support youth in foster care!

Thank you for your interest in Silver Lining Mentoring, we look forward to meeting you!

Mission Statement

Silver Lining Mentoring empowers foster and adopted youth to flourish through committed mentoring relationships.

Description

Silver Lining Mentoring is the only mentoring organization in Massachusetts that exclusively serves youth in foster care. Founded in 2001, Silver Lining empowers foster youth in Greater Boston to flourish through committed mentoring relationships and the development of essential life skills. We provide long term one-to-one mentoring and life skills development for young people who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. Our volunteer mentors are often the only adults in our youth’s lives who are not paid to spend time with them.
