This volunteer will be training to go into hospice patient’s home setting and read, gather life stories, perform memory projects and find out what they wish to do before the end and make every attempt to make it happen. All required training is covered by Alacare including basic Alacare training, drug screen, background check, 2 step TB skin test and Hep. B vaccine. This volunteer will be mentored by the volunteer and community relations coordinator until comfortable and confident to be independent.

Description
Enhabit is looking for direct patient and administrative volunteers to provide support to patients during their final months and weeks of life. Volunteers provide non-medical services and respite time for caregivers and family members. As a hospice volunteer, you will be given choices as to how much time and what types of things you want to do.
A few ways you can help as a hospice volunteer is by running errands for patients and families, playing games or reading with patients, walking and caring for family pets, or even creating a photo album of the patient and their family.
