Progressive Center for Independent Living is looking for volunteers age 21 and older to serve as positive role models. Mentors will be required to meet face to face or via Zoom with mentees twice a month for one hour sessions and communicate with them weekly through call, email, or text.

The Progressive Center for Independent Living, Inc. (PCIL) advocates for the rights of people with disabilities to achieve and maintain independent lifestyles. Through promotion of choice, self-direction and inclusion PCIL works with people with disabilities and their families to ensure the same freedoms and civil liberties as everyone else.
Description
PCIL help make independent living an achievable goal. People with disabilities who live in Mercer and Hunterdon Counties can obtain four essential core PCIL services:
- Information & Referral
- Advocacy
- Peer Support
- Independent Living Skills
The organization also offers a recreation program entitled Community Connections which provides socialization opportunities while breaking down barriers with the community. PCIL also offers trainings to employers throughout the State of New Jersey on disability sensitivity.
Another area of focus for PCIL is Emergency Preparedness for people with disabilities.
