Photographers and videographers are needed to capture our first annual Business Plan Competition Finals!
BUILD NYC’s Business Plan Competition will bring together 80 student teams across 10 schools from the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. The Competition will be the culminating event for our 450 9th-graders, who have spent the academic year pitching their business ideas and funding requests, creating prototypes, and working alongside mentors to strengthen their business acumen.
40 teams will have the opportunity to sell their products from 10AM-12PM, and the top 5 teams in each of the following categories will compete to take home the prize: 30-Second Elevator Pitch, and Top Overall Pitch. Winners will receive cash awards, prizes, and invaluable experiences.

Description
BUILD is supporting six LAUSD schools with the delivery of our business and entrepreneurship curriculum. Throughout the school year students will learn design thinking, form business teams, and develop an advanced prototype of a product to sell! BUILD recruiting volunteer business team mentors to support students as they form their business teams. Business team mentors are professional mentors who support and motivate a youth business team, provide recommendations for a company's vision, growth, and goals for the year, and build strong relationships with students. The volunteer commitment entails attending attend 10 class sessions throughout the second semester of the school year, 2 in person, 8 virtually.
