Training coordinator:
Looking for a detail oriented and organized volunteer to help expand the number of available trainers and assist current trainers.
- Reaching out to and recruiting trainers to help the Chapter expand coverage area.
- Assist the trainer while doing the match.
- Attend Veteran interview meeting as needed.
- Serve as point of contact for trainers and core team.
- Help to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and organized in google drive.

To help heal the emotional wounds of military veterans by using the power of the human-animal bond to provide a second chance for shelter animals by rescuing, training, and pairing them with America's servicemen and women who could benefit from having a companion animal.
Description
The Pets for Vets program is dedicated to supporting veterans and providing a second chance for shelter pets by rescuing, training and pairing them with America ’s veterans who could benefit from a companion animal.
Our goal is to help heal the emotional wounds of military veterans by pairing them with a shelter dog that is specially selected to match his or her personalit y. Profession al animal trainers rehabilita te the dogs and teach them good manners to fit into the veteran’s lifestyle. Training may include desensitiz ation to wheel chairs or crutches, recognizin g panic or anxiety disorder behaviors, etc.
Needy shelter dogs receive a second chance at life while giving our returning troops a second chance at health and happiness. The bonds of friendship formed between man and animal have the power to ease the suffering of our troops when they return from overseas.
