The ideal Social Media Specialist will embrace our mission to empower youth and young adults toward self-mastery and leadership. The Social Media Specialist will be tasked with supporting JAIA’s current social media presence while helping to increase the organization’s online reach. We are looking for a passionate and driven person with photography skills to attract and interact with targeted virtual communities, take photos and videos, then post at JAIA programming, and improve user experience through updating our social media pages. Our goal is to gradually increase online engagement, increase website traffic (page views and likes), and recruit volunteers, youth, and future donors who see the great work we do.

Qualifications

• Excellent writing and communication

• Stellar interpersonal skills

• Knowledge of social media platforms

• Photography & video skills a plus

• Must be responsible

• Able to work independently as well as in a team

• A natural sense of urgency; ability to juggle many initiatives at the same time

• Willingness to experiment & is self-driven

• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Google platforms

• Knowledge of the following online platforms:

• Instagram

• Facebook

• Twitter

• Pinterest

• Google+

• Snapchat

• Adobe Photoshop

• Any relevant imaging software

Basic Responsibilities

• Social media management across multiple social media platforms

• Produce photography and original ways to photograph/capture short videos at JAIA events

• Attend JAIA programming to capture images

• Experience and a comfort level with social media tools and techniques

• Establish new online relationships

• Research new marketing ideas and opportunities

• Increase user engagement, expand our social reach and build buzz for Your Tango Experts

• Assist in creation of marketing campaigns

• Identify, monitor, "befriend" and post comments on external blogs/forums where appropriate

• Experiment with new & alternative ways to leverage social media activities

• Monitor trends in social media tools and applications and appropriately apply them
