Go High Corp is seeking a Grant Writing Intern to apply for grants on behalf of the organization.

About the Organization:

Go High Corp Center for the Arts is a tax-exempt not-for-profit youth arts organization that serves the youth of Richmond City, Henrico County, and the surrounding counties. Go High Corp Center for the Arts goal is to provide a permanent venue in Richmond, VA and the surrounding counties in which youth can thrive in an artistic environment. The organization’s services will include music studio space, a runway for up and coming local designers and future models, a gallery to display art, a venue for performances of all genres, and a safe environment that generates healthy decision making and a home for community engagement through the arts.

Our client base is mainly youth from Richmond, VA and the surrounding counties however, youth and young college youth from surrounding communities will not be turned away. Although the venue primarily serves the youth of Richmond, VA and the surrounding counties it will also serve local artists, corresponding arts organization and the community as a whole. Our website is being developed however

Responsibilities:

  • Identify grants and funding opportunities relevant to Go High Corp
  • Research requirements and maintain knowledge of proposal submission process for each grant
  • Research characteristics that specific grant organizations seek and tailor applications/proposals to each specific organization
  • Create and maintain a calendar for grants and funding deadlines
  • Apply for relevant grants and fill out required applications
  • Meet required deadlines for each grant

Qualifications:

  • Current student or graduate of a Communications, English, or related discipline
  • Previous grant writing experience
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Passion for the Arts

Time Commitment:

10-15 hours/week for a minimum of 3 months. Duration can be adjusted according to the intern’s and Go High Corp’s needs. The schedule is flexible and will be set at the beginning of the internship.

Benefits:

This internship will provide the opportunity to learn the logistics of nonprofit operations and develop skills in grant writing, fundraising, and donor operations.

Compensation:

This is an unpaid internship. College credit may be offered on request.

Description

Prom Bring It is a non-profit agency providing formal attire and etiquette programs for high school youth in the Central Virginia and the surrounding area. The program is designed to form partnerships with local school districts, social services agencies, government entities, and community partners. Prom Bring It's goal is to foster a commitment to young people that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope in the future by providing formal attire for formal occasions. Through exposure to formal personal relationships, in an array of diverse settings, with sharp and crisp familiarity, can ensure confidence in the encounter. Exposure to new opportunities and the right tools will provide individual growth and the responsibility that will give youth the commitment to follow through on their path to adulthood with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Prom Bring It won the Seventeen Magazine 2012 Purple Dress Award.

Etiquette; appropriate clothing attire, hair , nails, make-up & skincare, resumes, portfolios, personality and ease with character, this is what Prom Bring It ventures to do by going through with our commitment to our future leaders.
