Puppy raiser/trainers have a lot of fun but it is also a lot of work. We need some serious minded people willing to have a puppy live with them for 18 mos - 2 yrs, be consistent in training the puppy, willing to attend weekly Thursday evening classes to learn how, and also willing to fill out evaluations on the puppy 3-4 x per year. While training the puppy you also get a great companion (the puppy) to go with you while you run your errands, shop, go out to dinner, the movies, etc. A service pup in training has the same rights of access as a working service dog. So anywhere the public is allowed to go, you can take the service pup in training (once he/she is housebroken)! Our dogs are then placed with disabled veterans who need a service dog to help them with everyday tasks.
We need men & women trainers. Active military are welcome. We have some pups that go to work with their raisers and also with them to school! These are great training opportunities! If you are retired and need somethig fullfilling to do, this is a great oportunity for you!
