Become a Volunteer Mentor and help a Juvenile Justice involved youth or a youth living in DCF foster care. We are looking for individuals - particularly males - who are positive, committed, punctual, honest and open-minded.
Requirements:
- 21 years of age or older
- Pass background checks
- Safe, insured vehicle
- Two positive references
- Willing to make a one year commitment
- Able to spend 6 hours per month with mentee doing activities in the community (scheduling is flexible)

Description
Waterbury Youth Services (WYS), the authorized Youth Service Bureau in the Greater Waterbury area, helps youth learn the skills they need to be more successful at home, in school and throughout the community.
As a community-based agency, WYS responds to the needs of children, youth and their families, through a variety of programs which enhance their quality of life. WYS provides programming in the areas of: mentoring, after school programming, youth employment and leadership, truancy and juvenile justice prevention and intervention, services to homeless youth, residential services, community outreach and summer camp.
