Blossom Care Network (BCN) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that offers 1-to-1 trauma-informed mentoring for Colorado’s abused, exploited and at-risk youth. BCN’s program addresses two key areas: 1) the lack of consistent, caring adult relationships in many young people’s lives, and 2) exploring career options as they transition to adult independent living. With the aid of fully vetted and committed mentors, BCN helps vulnerable young people deal with their issues while identifying and developing their interests and skills, encouraging them toward lifelong success.

There are currently over a doxen girls and boys on the BCN waiting list, so we are looking male and female mentors throughout the Denver area.

We ask that mentors pay for their own background check, and BCN will pay for the drug test. Upon completion of these steps, there will be a 1/2 day training provided at no cost, emphasizing symptoms of and responses to trauma in minors. In order to establish trusting relationships, a minimum commitment of meeting once a week for one year is needed.

This person needs to have reliable transportation without any moving violations in the past three years (so that they can transport a minor). They cannot currently be in a substance abuse program and must have been clean for at least 5 years. Nor may they be under treatment for a serious mental disorder or hospitalized for such within the past three years.
