Angels Grace Hospice is looking for people who would like to make short visits to hospice patients in the Aurora area. These visits take place in area nursing homes, assisted living homes, or patient homes. Hospice patients have a terminal illness with a prognosis of 6 months or less. Volunteers offer them caring companionship by talking with them, reading out loud, listening to music with them, looking at photos together and letting them share their memories with you. Some patients might not be able to talk very much because of their illnesses. Your presence - sitting quietly with them, holding their hands, etc. can bring them comfort. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Background check, drug screen, and 2-step TB test are all required, and are all paid for by Angels Grace Hospice.
